Cricket stars unveiled for UAE T20x

David Miller and Andre Russell named as first 'icon players'

We are excited to announce that the first players to officially join UAE T20x, the UAE’s first international T20 league organized by the Emirates Cricket Board and OPI Sports, have been revealed. South Africa’s batsman, David Miller, and West Indies power hitter, Andre Russell, were unveiled as the first of five player 'icons' to join the new league.

Both players are extremely excited to be joining the tournament, with Miller and Russell taking to Twitter to share the news. The highly anticipated announcement made headlines in major regional newspapers and across the world, as we prepare to unveil more details about the new league in the coming weeks.

UAE T20x promises a fan-centric experience and the most internationally-representative line-up of players and coaches seen in any white-ball league around the world. Five new franchise teams will compete for the inaugural league title with a 22-match schedule played over 24 days in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.

Uniquely, each of the 16-man squads will be comprised of six international star players, four emerging and junior players, three ICC Associate Member players; and three UAE national team players. To find out more about the UAE T20x, you can visit the website by clicking here.
