End-to-end sponsorship campaign for London's flagship long-distance race
Lucozade Sport was the Official Hydration Partner of the Virgin Money London Marathon 2019 for the 18th Year running, and our team was responsible for managing the entire sponsorship campaign from start to finish.
Prior to race day, Lucozade Sport was present at the running expo, where runners could sign in and prepare for the marathon. We created a stand that was bigger and better than ever before with the purpose of educating runners on our product, whilst sharing some of the brand’s sustainability plans.
On race day itself, Lucozade Sport was present throughout the course, whether it be gel and jelly bean distribution stations, drinks stations, or the cheer zone at Mile 23 for friends and family of Team Lucozade Sport runners. We even trialled a new OOHO product on course; 30ml of Lucozade Sport Orange, encased in a thin seaweed membrane, which is fully edible and de-compostable.
Various records were also broken, with a record number of female finishers, and it has now raised over £1bn for charity. Beyond that, Lucozade ambassador Josh Landmann also broke the World Record for the fastest Marathon in a non-racing wheelchair with a time of 3:18:59 so a huge congratulations to him.
