Multi-sport event showcases Darwin's delights
The Arafura Games was a multi-sport event held from 25th April – 4th May 2019 across the City of Darwin. Supported by the Northern Territory Government, the event was a showcase for the city and its unique arts, culture, history, trade and investment opportunities, celebrating friendship, goodwill and comradery between competing nations.
The Games saw athletes visit from around the South East Asia and Oceania regions, competing from amateur level through to sub-elite competition in 17 sports across 14 venues within 4 precincts across the City.
CSM Live were contracted by the Organising Committee to complete the Look of the games, servicing each of the 17 sports, 3 non-competition venues and City dressing. The initial scope included site surveys, applications plans, local supplier engagement and budget proposal.
The full scope of work developed to include the project management of the brand assets from creation to install and delivery. This included:
- Scope Validation
- Wayfinding & FA Signage
- Design Direction & Artwork Management
- Procurement & Production
- Install Schedule Management
- Supplier Management
- Venue Install
- Sports Presentation Digital Assets
The CSM Live team in Australia managed the project from concept to delivery, fulfilling the look of the games on a limited budget. The install was fully managed with a small crew and Games volunteers making the efficient planning process come together on venue, through transitions and across the city to really show the spirit of the Games in a hot and sticky Darwin.
