Thrilling Race Befitting Of Grand Prix Circuit

We were at the front line of electric racing at the weekend after being appointed to support the communications for the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship’s flagship Monaco E-Prix.

Formula E - Antonio Felix da Costa

The communications collective was made up of two teams – one in the UK working remotely while Fanny Margoux from our France office was on the ground in Monaco – with the directive to promote the famous race in UK and French media.

The first time Formula E has raced on the full traditional Grand Prix circuit, the race did not disappoint with defending champion Antonio Felix da Costa winning a dramatic race thanks to a last-lap overtake.

The race also proved a success off the track, with a two-week race promotional campaign delivering print, online and broadcast coverage across a host of mainstream outlets such as the Daily Mirror, BBC World News, L’Équipe and Les Echos. While on race day the teams combined to write and deliver content to media and Formula E’s official broadcasters.

We were also supporting the Jaguar Racing team at the iconic race, playing an instrumental role in capturing and distributing content before, during and after the E-Prix weekend. We helped grow the Jaguar Racing social channels significantly along the way and secured a fourth FanBoost top 5 for British driver, Sam Bird. The team also set up media interviews across the weekend including Jaguar Racing Team Director, James Barclay starring live on the BBC Radio 4 Today programme – one of the most listened to radio shows in the UK.

Jaguar success celebrations

For the team itself, the Monaco E-Prix didn’t disappoint as Mitch Evans secured his third podium of the season after a thrilling finale. On the other side of the Jaguar Racing garage, teammate Sam Bird finished seventh giving the team an important double points finish.
