From Hong Kong to White Hart Lane for the four finalists of the AIA championship 2017
It is the stuff of childhood dreams, in fact adult dreams as well, to play on the hallowed turf of a Premier League pitch. Walk down the same tunnel as the greats of the sport, score a goal in front of the stands which have witnessed such history and even, possibly, lift a trophy like only the very best captains can claim to have done.
For four winning teams in the AIA Championship 2017, this dream is set to become a reality as they prepare to fight for national pride at White Hart Lane, home of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.
Now in its second season, the AIA Championship 2017 Regional Playoffs returned to Hong Kong last month. One of Asia’s finest sporting venues, the Hong Kong Football Club stadium played host to 200 guests comprised of AIA employees, customers and bank partners.
The 18 teams were competing for a once-in-a-lifetime trip to London, with four teams from Indonesia, Thailand, China and Australia/New Zealand emerging victorious on the day. You can watch the highlights from the regional playoffs here.
These four teams arrived in London last Thursday where they’ve been treated to an exclusive Spurs experience, including tickets to Tottenham’s victory over Watford on Saturday, before playing the ‘Grand Finals’ on 11th April.
