Hot Lap winners treated to special day at Daytona
Two iRacing winners from 2018 competed against each other for the Mazda Hot Lap Challenge Finale before the start of 24 Hours at Daytona at the Mazda fan experience.
Through Mazda’s partnership with iRacing and our consultancy, more than 400 fans competed online and on-site at one of Mazda’s fan experiences in 2018 to win a chance to compete in the finale. The final two won an all-expense paid trip Rolex 24 including airfare, hotel and a VIP experience.
The winner of the finale won a track day, complete with coaching from a professional Mazda driver in a 2019 MX-5 Global Cup Car. We managed all facets of the contest as well as the entire fan experience.
Throughout the entire weekend, fans and guests were fully immersed in the Mazda experience. Keeping three of Mazda’s brand pillars in mind – Artful Design, Human Centricity and Ingenious Solutions – we created engagement spaces which were conducive to consumer engagement and race fan interaction.
The experience at Rolex 24 included a full line-up of Mazda cars, the RT24-P, racing simulators, a viewing deck exclusive to Mazda owners, Mazda Team Joest driver appearance and autograph session as well as a live production of the This Week in Sports Car
podcast. Mazda will be back on and off the track at Twelve Hours of Sebring on March 13-16 in Sebring, Fla.
