2016 NASCAR After The Lap

Since 1948, NASCAR has dedicated immense time and effort to showing its appreciation for millions of fans. While NASCAR races are held each weekend with fanfare, there is only one event that gives fans a never-seen-before perspective of the sport and its athletes: NASCAR After The Lap.

On Thursday, Dec. 1, 2016, at 5 p.m., more than 2,000 fans gathered at The Palms’ Pearl Concert Theater to experience the unfiltered, tell-all question-and-answer session with the sport’s top athletes.

As a longtime partner, we were responsible for developing an entertaining platform that gave fans a unique and engaging experience. Under its umbrella of responsibilities was venue design and logistics, run of show for the hour-and-a-half live program, scripting for hosts, event planning and d├ęcor, venue management, ticketing and event promotion.

In addition, JHE’s creative department has been a critical member to the development of the program, designing a multitude of advertisements and graphics for the premier event. CSM-designed advertisements have appeared in Sports Illustrated, Las Vegas Magazine, online, billboards and much more.

Hosting NASCAR After The Lap this year was auto racing analyst Rutledge Wood along with co-host and American restaurateur, author, television personality and NASCAR fan Guy Fieri.

Despite the level of personality those two brought to the table, it was a surprise appearance by racing legend AJ Foyt that made the night spectacular. As part of Tony Stewart’s farewell tour, Foyt joined the 16 drivers on stage which ultimately turned into a roast of the three-time Sprint Cup Series champion.

To commemorate Stewart’s last time on the NASCAR After The Lap stage, we culminated the event with a confetti shot inside the venue.

As producers since 2010, we closed the books on the 2016 event with tremendous growth and the creation of multiple picturesque moments.
