Celebrations at the World Rugby Awards

Beauden Barrett & Eddie Jones both take home awards

The World Rugby Awards took place in Monaco last week and it was successful evening for both Eddie Jones and Beauden Barrett, who are both represented by the Talent team at CSM. Looking back on a year of rugby highlights and achievements from around the globe, the event hosted the top names from the rugby world and showcased some of the best talent in the game.
Beauden Barrett was named World Rugby’s Player of the Year, becoming only the second player to win the award in successive years. The award concluded another impressive season for Barrett as he celebrated his 50th test against Samoa this season and finished the British & Irish Lions Series as top point scorer with 41. The 26-year-old beat fellow All Black Rieko Ioane, Maro Itoje, Owen Farrell and Wallabies full back Israel Folau to the top prize in Monaco.

Eddie Jones World Rugby Awards
World Rugby’s Coach of the Year was awarded to Eddie Jones, as he becomes the first England coach to win the prestigious award since Clive Woodward in 2003. Jones led England to a second Six Nations title followed by a two-test series win in Argentina in June and victories over Argentina, Australia and Samoa in November’s Old Mutual Wealth Series, to take his record to 22 wins from 23 tests in charge.
We represent and manage the careers of a diverse roster of some of the biggest names in sport and look forward to working with Jones and Barrett going forward. Congratulations to both on their World Rugby accolades.
The event was also a success outside of the CSM talent division, with our Client Services team running the event with World Rugby. The team had eight members of staff onsite, managing the evening including guest lists, branding, catering, entertainment, the Awards running order and all onsite logistics. We have been running the World Rugby Awards (formerly IRB Awards) for over ten years now.
