HITZ youngsters go off-roading

Land Rover Experience day recognises participants

We recently assisted Land Rover in delivering a reward and recognition day for participants of Premiership Rugby’s HITZ programme, as they visited Eastnor’s Land Rover Experience centre for a day of off-road driving.

HITZ is a national programme, which uses sport, and the power of rugby to motivate youngsters aged between 14-19 to return to education, vocational training, and employment.

Participants from Wasps, Worcester Warriors, Leicester Tigers and Northampton Saints enjoyed team building exercises, before negotiating the Worcestershire countryside in some of Land Rover's latest vehicles, with expert Land Rover drivers.

Land Rover is a key partner of HITZ and has supported the programme since its inception in 2011. During this time Land Rover has helped to develop resilience, self-reliance, and confidence in more than 14,600 young people.

During the 6-week employability programme, 57 Jaguar Land Rover employees volunteered their time to mentor the participants. Guiding them through modules of team building, CV writing, interview techniques, and mock interviews, they were on hand at Eastnor to watch and celebrate the participants’ achievements during the day.
