All-star line up delves into esports landscape

HSBC has partnered with ONE Esports to rollout a pilot partnership in Indonesia and Malaysia, not only to open up a world of opportunity for players, but also to reach new and diverse audiences in Southeast Asia.

As part of the employee engagement programme, our team delivered the HSBC Esports Internal Education Series to share insights and the potential of driving commercial value. The HSBC Esports Roundtable virtual panel featured an all-star line-up of industry leaders including Carlos Alimurung, CEO of ONE Esports, Chris DeAppolonio, Chief Innovation Officer of Evil Geniuses, Debbie Scott-Bowden, our Gaming & Esports Lead.

The session took a deep dive into the current and future landscape of esports,  the trends, and also the opportunities for brands partnering in this space. Commenting on the Southeast Asian market, the speakers highlighted trends and the shift from B2C to B2B in esport partnerships.

Our main task was to support HSBC grow their presence across the two key markets, with the aim to expand the partnership to the broader region in the future. We oversee all elements of the pilot partnership covering strategic planning, event and programme delivery, communications, and hospitality experiences.
