Verizon IndyCar Series gets underway
While on-track activity for the Verizon IndyCar Series officially kicks off at the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg on March 11, the unofficial start for drivers and teams took place Feb. 7-10 in Phoenix, AZ.
A full field of drivers came together for the first time in 2018 for practice and to test the new Aerokit at ISM Raceway, with rookies taking to the short oval on the first day of open testing. On top of on-track activity, drivers had other important duties during the week with IndyCar Media Days happening away from the track at the Renaissance Hotel.
Media days are important for any sports league and its partners to capture photography, video and other content that will be used for the entire season. Along with other series partners like Firestone, ESPN and NBC, we were there to capture season-long social media content for Verizon and Paddock Insider (@PaddockInsider).
Our social media and production team interviewed more than 24 drivers over a two-day period. The content captured during these two days will be used to highlight Verizon initiatives within IndyCar for the 2018 season.
