New car tackles French terrain to promote eTROPHY series
Jaguar has created the world’s first production battery electric vehicle race series – the Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY. The history-making championship is the official support race to the ABB FIA Formula E Championship, with up to 20 cars taking to the grid.
Throughout this inaugural season, we are constantly finding new ways to tell the story of the Championship to a wider audience. Ahead of Round 7 in Monaco last weekend, 2016 F1 World Champion Nico Rosberg took H.S.H. Prince Albert of Monaco for a spin around the track.
As well as this, we led Jaguar’s return to the infamous Col De Turini. Dubbed one of the most dangerous roads in the world, the ‘Col’, located at 1607 metres above sea level in the Maritime Alps, is steeped in Motor Racing history, with the Monte Carlo Rally often utilising its sheer drops and serpentine twists and turns to test driver’s ability. 63 years after Jaguar last raced, we took the Jaguar I-PACE to the hills of southern France. Check out the stunning video the team created:
On top of all this, the Jaguar I-PACE was also named ‘World Car of the Year’. The good news did not stop there for Jaguar either, as the PJR Formula E team notched up a double points finish at the Monaco Eprix on Saturday. Roll on next month.
