Conquering the Clapham 10K

Runners take on second adidas City Run of 2018

On Sunday September 16, thousands of runners lined up on the start line of the first ever Clapham 10K ready to Break New Ground.
The Clapham 10K was the second event in the 2018 adidas City Runs series and provided runners with a unique opportunity to take part in South London’s first and only major closed road running event. Starting and finishing in Larkhall Park, the route took runners along the Wandsworth Road, past Clapham Common, through Clapham Old Town and back to Larkhall Park for a sprint finish in front of the awaiting crowds at the finish line.

With DJ’s, cheer stations, steel bands and local residents lining the streets to cheer the runners on, there was a real carnival atmosphere right along the route. Once runners crossed the finish line, they were able to make the most of free massage, yoga and the amazing activations delivered by event sponsors adidas, Fitbit and Continental. The best bit? Runners were able to head into Clapham after the race and enjoy the amazing discounts that has been arranged with some of Clapham’s best restaurants and hangouts so they could celebrate in style!
Next up in the 2018 series, we’re heading to the streets of East London for the return of the Shoreditch 10K (October 14). If you would like to enter this run or find out more, click here.
