Stuart Broad and the “Marmy Army” get ready for The Ashes

Ahead of the Ashes, our client, Marmite, recently announced a partnership with English cricket’s unofficial 12th man, The Barmy Army, with the aim of providing added support for the team from the terraces.

The brand has also partnered with another of our clients, Stuart Broad, who will act as brand ambassador, helping spread the Marmite gospel even further this summer.

The legendary fast bowler is Australia’s arch nemesis – the man they love to hate, making him the perfect face of this campaign, and Marmite is leaving no stone unturned in their attempt to help him.

To mark the announcement, we helped put together a launch video, featuring the fictitious ‘Head of Marmite’ working alongside the newly christened “Marmy Army” to compose a song for Broad. Find out which one he preferred, below.

The hope is that this added support can give Broad and his teammates a competitive advantage on the field, as well as helping Marmite benefit off the field against Australia’s alternative toast topper.

Marmite will also be fuelling both England & Australian fans across the five Men’s Test Matches and Women’s Test Match this summer by spreading the love and handing out over half a million complimentary samples of the delicious yeasty savoury spread. Amongst them, will be The Barmy Army’s lead trumpeter Simon ‘Finchy’ Finch, who will be leading England supporters against their Australian counterparts.

We look forward to working with them as England and Australia do battle, both on and off the pitch.
