On Sunday June 17, thousands of runners descended on the City of London to take part in London’s most revolutionary new running event – the adidas City Runs: 1 Hour.
The challenge? To run as far as possible in one hour around an epic 1 mile closed road loop that took in some of central London’s most famous landmarks. It was a race where the runners’ game plan was as important as their fitness level and they finished with a total distance, not a finish time. The furthest a participant ran was a hugely impressive 10.4 miles.
We brought on board and serviced 12 sponsors and partners, including: adidas, Fitbit, Continental, Great Ormond Street Hospital, Vita Coco, Chipotle, London & Partners and parkrun, and we were also on hand to make sure that the whole event looked the part by producing all branding along the course.
The event itself was a huge success with 98% of runners saying they would take part in the event again and 78% saying their perception of adidas had improved as a result of participating in the event. 50% of participants also revealed that they were more likely to purchase a pair of adidas trainers having run in the 1 Hour.
This was the first of four adidas City Runs in 2018, with the recently announced Clapham 10k taking place in September, followed shortly after by both the Shoreditch 10k & the Fulham 10k. If you would like to enter the Clapham 10k, then click here
