Students battle it out for Mayor’s Cup

We were thrilled to help the New York City Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment (MOME) and the Department of Education (DOE), in partnership with Microsoft and Minecraft Education, host the first in person tournament finale for the Minecraft Battle of the Boroughs Challenge. We managed the overall event production including the venue management, stage layout, design, ROS, AV coordination and show management.

On Saturday, June 10th, five Junior and five Senior students from each NYC borough competed for the inaugural Mayor’s Cup. The students were provided with prompts to create the most inclusive future-ready city spaces and were evaluated by a panel of judges. Mayor Adams and MOME Commissioner Anne del Castillo were on hand to congratulate and present trophies to the winning teams: John Dewey High School in Brooklyn (Senior team) and Space Shuttle Columbia School P.S. 58 in Staten Island (Junior team).
