Drone show lights up the sky above St James’ Park
It had been twenty long years since Newcastle United last played a game in a European competition; an arduous wait for one of the best supported and most well-loved clubs in the UK.
This week, though, they were back in the big time, hosting Paris Saint-German in the group stages of the 2023/2024 UEFA at a raucous St James’ Park.
To mark this momentous occasion, we worked with the club’s Official Front of Shirt Sponsor and pioneering destination and experiences business, Sela, to put on a spectacular drone show announcing the Toon Army’s return. The show featured a range of iconic displays, including the famous black and white striped home shirt, the club badge and a range of current player names.
And what an occasion it turned out to be. Feeding off a boisterous home crowd, Newcastle ran out 4-1 winners over the current French domestic champions. As returns go, it will take some beating.
