The Great American Race rocks Florida

The 2024 Daytona 500 marked our Production team’s 26th consecutive year providing pre-race production for NASCAR’s season-opening “Super Bowl.” Battling rain in the area throughout the race weekend (resulting in postponements of both Saturday’s Xfinity Series and Sunday’s Cup Series races), the planned pre-race festivities – including driver meetings and race introductions, a National Anthem from the U.S. Army’s 82nd Airborne All-American Chorus, a precision flyover from the Air Force Thunderbirds, and a command delivered by the “most electrifying superstar in sports entertainment,” Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson – were all delayed until Monday. While certainly an extensive list, it merely scratched the surface of the role that our Production team played in the first “official” race of the 2024 NASCAR season.

In addition, Production’s experiential team delivered the first stop of the NASCAR Experience on the DAYTONA midway. Following the success of the activation, which celebrated the 75th anniversary of NASCAR, in 2023, the “larger than life” activation was reimagined into a new concept for 2024, featuring picnic tables, iRacing simulators, integrated food and beverage, and an entertainment stage that featured programming throughout the weekend.

Production’s continued work with Barstool Sports was on display at the 500 as well, as Production built out a midway activation featuring a truss-built stage with live entertainment all weekend, audio and video, interactive games, and a photo wall.

Last, but certainly not least, Production was also responsible for two hospitality-centric activations throughout race week, including the NASCAR Business Center, and a hospitality build-out for Michael Jordan and 23XI Racing.
