Creating an entertaining and amusing content series
We were challenged by the Jockey Club and Cheltenham Racecourse to create an entertaining and amusing content series, to be hosted on Cheltenham’s owned channels. The aim is to engage a new audience without alienating the regular Cheltenham racegoer, whilst simultaneously showcasing and celebrating the magic of the Cheltenham Festival.
The idea the Production Team came up with was to take the one Cheltenham resident who’s not keen on horse racing (and really can’t see what all the fuss is about) and turn him into a believer. Enter Mr Dom Joly of Trigger Happy fame.
The first episode, Looking the Part,
follows Dom to London where he visits tailors, Dress2Kill, who are on hand to advise on what Dom should wear to the races. With the help of Rachel Wyse (no less), he chooses the tweed outfit that he will wear on Ladies Day, Wednesday 14th March. To watch Dom suit up, click here.
The series progresses with episode two, What's All This About Horses,
where Dom heads to renowned trainer Fergal O'Brien's yard to try and discover what goes in to producing a race-winning horse. To see what he finds out, click here
In the newly released third instalment, Sounding the Part,
Dom continues in his quest to get ‘Cheltenham Ready’ by attending Cheltenham Trials Day to pick up some tip’s and make some cash! All good practice for the actual Festival next week. To watch Dom get to grips with some racing lingo, click here.
The remaining episode will be released in the run up to the festival, which takes place 13th
March, and will see Dom press on with his journey towards getting ‘Cheltenham Ready’.
