Hardys Heartbeat of the Club 2018

Bourne's recognised for their support of Chippingdale CC

The Hardys team travelled to Chippingdale Cricket Club to crown Matt & Julie Bourne as ‘Hardys Heartbeat of the Club 2018’. Launched by England star Jonny Bairstow earlier in the summer, the campaign sees Hardys search grassroots cricket for the game’s unsung heroes.

Hundreds were nominated by their peers and thousands of votes were cast to decide the overall winner from the shortlisted Final XI. The winning couple were selected for their unwavering support for their local club.  From umpiring the 1st XI to managing the books, the couple run the club from top to bottom.

As a reward for being named Heartbeat of the Club, the team took England legend Jonathan Trott and a fully stocked Hardys Pavilion (the portable wine bar famous at England matches!) to East Sussex to quench the thirst of Chippingdale CC members at the club’s end of season event. Trott presented the Bourne’s with their trophy, took part in a Q&A and batting masterclass, and also went through a round of media interviews.
